The Sweater Takeover

The other day while taking inventory of my sweater stash, I was amazed at how many sweaters I had accumulated over the past month or so. While I've been recycling sweaters for over 6 months now, I didn't realize the breadth of my work (smile). At first, the sweaters and recycled yarn fit into a plastic bag. It then grew into a medium sized plastic container. I knew I was in troubled when my stash started taking over my china hutch and buffet. You'll see by this picture that the yarn is aggressively giving the dishes the squeeze. And this doesn't even show the multitudes of sweaters!

Not to mention the takeover in my bathroom and shower stall.

I knew I had to take action. I also knew at that point, this recycled yarn business was a force to be reckoned with. No turning back now. My start-up business (addiction) needed a space of its own.

So I jumped in a bought a shelving system. I bought this system on a Friday night and by Saturday night, I couldn't believe how organized my recycled yarn and sweaters were. I knew exactly the type of each yarn and quantity. I also knew how many sweaters - type and quantity. My (non-existent) accountants would be so proud that I can actually track inventory now!

Recycled Yarns...The Blogger for the Frogger!

Welcome to the blog for those who love to frog! This blog will be dedicated to all things recycled yarn.

In the coming weeks and months, we'll explore the wonderful myriad of intricacies surrounding recycling yarn from sweaters, afghans, and other garments. For those of us who have tried it, we are usually addicted right away. The yearn for more sweaters, more yarn, more, more, more, reaches fever pitch and before you know it, you have more yarn than you could ever desire.

From time to time, I will be featuring sales and special discounts for my recycled yarn store - MishMash Yarns (http://www.mishmashyarns.ecrater.com/). Check my recycled yarn market often for more yarns and fibers. New yarns are added regularly. I am currently closing out on summer yarns - some lovely cottons among other things - being sold at ridiculously low prices.

Anyway, I look forward to broadcasting in cyberspace especially sharing with my fellow froggers and bloggers.
